INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

Our individual psychotherapy is the foundation for all of our services and therapies.

Our holistic approach is useful for almost any age and for almost any diagnosis.

We will journey together to reclaim your happiness and direction while you discard outdated patterns that are likely blocking your opportunities for reaching your dreams and goals.

Our interpersonal psychotherapy approach is designed for straight, LGBTQ+, binary, non-binary individuals or any combination. Essential to gaining a positive outcome is your commitment to our in-depth process.

All therapy is conducted in our very peaceful setting.

We do not provide custody reports, disability reports, bariatric reports, diagnostic reports and substance abuse reports for physicians, for attorneys or for the courts.

COUPLES THERAPY

If you are close to a breakup, separation, or divorce, we first assess your individual and couple's situation, life histories, individual personalities, and your readiness for couples counseling.

We provide relationship counseling for partners living together or separately who are committed to their relationship, their engagement, or their marriage and partnership.

We provide couples counseling, premarital and marital therapy for straight, LGBTQ+, and binary and non-binary couples, etc. We work with couples in combination with working individually with each partner

We help you define and rediscover your commitment as a couple while creating a strong bridge to your communication, your partnership, and to your attraction and love.

We use Imago Therapy, Encounter Centered Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy with couples who desire to repair and restore their relationship.

However, if the damage has been too severe before coming in to see us, we may help you to close your relationship.

We do not provide custody evaluations, parenting plans for divorce, diagnostic reports and substance abuse reports for physicians, for attorneys or for the courts.

CONFLICT MEDIATION for COUPLES

We provide conflict mediation to help you prepare for the closure of your relationship.

This service is only available once you decide as a couple that you do not intend to restore your partnership and/or marriage.

We help you address tough end-of-relationship issues with your departing partner before you may need to enter the legal system.

We do not provide parenting plans for divorce, mediation reports, custody reports, diagnostic reports, and substance abuse reports for physicians, for attorneys or for the courts.

FAMILY THERAPY

We work with all ages including preschoolers through to high school age, young adults, middle aged and senior adults.

We work with your family through experiential play therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, individual therapy along with adjunctive family therapy.

We do not perform a checklist to test symptoms in children and teens. Rather, we use role playing, art and poetry with parents and their teens and in certain circumstances, with parents and their grown children.

With younger children and their parents or grandparents, we use drawing, puppets, toys, and percussive instruments to facilitate expressive and rich interaction.

We have a play and art area equipped with creative toys and art tools.

ADDICTION COUNSELING

Our approach will guide you to become increasingly self-aware as a whole person.

You will learn how to understand and face the causes and consequences of your entrenched addictions that compel you to repeat your addictive patterns and behaviors.

Your stronger self-awareness will help you to detour a relapse and to appreciate your own dignity.

ADDICTIVE BEHAVIORS WE TREAT

Alcoholism, drug abuse, tobacco abuse, pornography, overeating, cutting, overspending, vaping, gambling, internet addiction, gaming, seeking pain, shoplifting, workaholism, and others.

LIFE COACHING

We will examine your professional and personal goals by creating a tailored plan in sync with who you are at this point in your life course.

THIS PLAN MAY INCLUDE:

Balancing your family life with your professional life, building your career, evaluating your leadership and financial skills, polishing your organizational skills, starting up a new business, reevaluating your educational decisions, retirement planning, end of life issues, and others.

Life coaching is not psychotherapy or counseling.

NARRATIVE THERAPY

We use your personal memoir to help you become mindful about your emotional and behavioral patterns that may be getting in the way of your success and happiness.

We will use your narrations in your memoir to help design your therapy.

We use additional narrative journaling with children through to adults to address relationship concerns, power struggles, communication issues, body dysmorphic issues, school challenges, bullying, etc. that may be masking deeper issues.

CREATIVE ARTS THERAPIES

We use expressive therapies with children, adolescents, and adults.

Expressive therapies are helpful when conventional methods have not been entirely in sync with your emotional language and your ways of expressing your unique self.

We may use drawing, painting, poetry, creative toys, musical instruments, psychodrama, and gestalt techniques so that you can fully express your life story to us and to yourself.

PET THERAPY

We Are Pet Therapy Certified

Our very sweet four pound dog Lily may provide a source of acceptance and support to you during your sessions at Hearth For Healing.

TELEHEALTH SERVICES

We greatly value the in-person connection essential to success in interpersonal psychotherapy.

This connection can be compromised by using a screen during therapy.

Thus, we only use telehealth occasionally. We may use it at our discretion if you are on vacation, or if you are physically ill and therefore unable to travel in for your scheduled session.

Before using Telehealth, you will first need to complete our online registration, provide your deposit in person, and participate in three in-person sessions.

Insurance plans have changing rules for telehealth reimbursement. Self-pay is a dependable option for telehealth services.

We will use a HIPAA compliant app for iPhone or Android or for your PC.

If you need help with our telehealth app, we will show you how to use it.

EMERGENCY SERVICES DISCLAIMER

We empathize with your emergencies.

However, in the event of unsafe situations of abuse and physical threat, or if you are experiencing suicidal or homicidal thoughts or gestures, we urge you to immediately call 911 or 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

If you have a history of utilizing emergency and crisis services for your situations, our practice may not be the right fit for you.

We must focus our small staff resources solely on our clinical work at our office. Thus, we do not employ additional emergency services including reports for law enforcement, probation, CPS, protection orders, schools, physicians, attorneys or for the courts.

We do not facilitate emergency services for hospital admissions, or provide reports for hospitals, for emergency rooms or for other treatment facilities. We do not provide disability reports, DHHS reports, crisis custody reports, workers' comp reports, FMLA, bariatric reports, and emotional support animal reports.

Instead, our highly individualized and personalized treatment and our commitment to you often serves to greatly decrease your emergencies.
