INSURANCE OPTION

Coinsurances, copays, and deductibles are determined by your insurance depending on the plan you have chosen.

It is your insurance company that determines whether they reimburse for our services after they process your insurance claim.

Insurance companies also determine their own time frame for reimbursement.

If you have not met your deductible, your payments to us will accrue toward your deductible without any reimbursement from your insurance until your deductible is met.

Each insurance plan has its own fee structure and waiting periods for deductibles, copays, and coinsurances.

When using insurance your company becomes your payor; thus they can at any time during your therapy request the full content of your private file in order to reimburse your insurance claims.

By law, we are then required to release your confidential and personal information to your insurance company.

SELF PAY OPTION

There are definite advantages to using the self-pay option rather than using the insurance option:

If you choose to self-pay, your privacy and confidentiality remains exclusively between you and us.

Self-pay is a very simple and direct transaction with us. It completely removes the uncertain variables that using insurance can carry with it.

HOW WE DO PAYMENT

We do not keep your personal credit card on file!

Instead of keeping a copy of your credit card on file with our office, we simply require that you provide and maintain a set deposit in your Hearth For Healing individual account.

This allows us to proceed with your therapy right away when you come in for your sessions. This also eliminates spending your valuable time on billing transactions.

Just as when using a credit card, we use your deposit to satisfy your coinsurance obligation, co-pays, unmet deductibles, and missed sessions without your prior 48-hour notice.

Any funds remaining in your deposit account are returned to you in person at our office once therapy has ended and after all claims have been reimbursed by your insurance. We do not Venmo, postal mail, or PayPal deposit returns.

We accept cash or check as payment of our services paid at the beginning of your sessions. We currently do not accept credit cards or debit cards. At your request, we can provide receipts which you can submit to your HSA or flex accounts for your medical expenses.

Since all fees are paid by cash or check at time of service, you will not experience any credit card or billing surprises from us.

CANCELLATIONS

We kindly require that you provide a 48-hour notice for any cancellations as part of your commitment to our work together.

Please note that insurance does not cover missed sessions, so we are unable to accommodate cancellations without at least your 48 hours' notice.

We accept 48-hour cancellation notices via voicemail at 712-571-0680.

Please do not cancel through our website, through Psychology Today, through email or text as we may not receive your notice in time.

If we do not receive your voicemail cancellation at least 48 hours before your scheduled session, you will be responsible for the full session fee.

This fee will be deducted from your deposit account, very similar to how we would process your payment if your credit card were on file with us. Prior to your next scheduled session, you will need to replenish your account back to the standard amount in order to proceed with therapy.

Weekends are not included in this 48-hour notice because that leaves us insufficient time to give your missed session to anyone else who is in need of our attention.
