ABOUT YOU AND ME

MY COMMITMENT TO YOU

I make a promise to you that although I cannot guarantee complete success, I will work with you and beside you with diligence, care, and a wisdom from having acquired decades of experience as a seasoned clinician.

I will customize our work together to fit your unique needs and circumstances, your prognosis, and dreams for your life. Most importantly, I will bring my love for people into our work together.

Ultimately, your success in treatment will rest less upon my diplomas and training, but more upon your steady commitment to therapy and my genuine empathy for you as a person.

MY CREDENTIALS

My graduate education is from Tulane University. My earlier academic training is in Counseling Psychology and Expressive Therapies from Lesley University in Cambridge, Mass. I have been licensed to practice In Nebraska for over thirty-five years. I am also licensed in Iowa. Although I am very well trained in diagnosis and psychopathology, I now combine psychoanalytic psychotherapy with a contemporary transpersonal approach.

I also use a combination of interactive approaches for which I did advanced post-graduate training on the East Coast in trauma work, imago therapy, logotherapy, narrative therapy, autism, Jungian work, & creative arts therapies.

MY CAREER

I have been practicing in successful solo and group private practices for many years and have held teaching positions at the collegiate and university levels.  I conduct workshops on transformative relationships and Jungian archetypes. I have held positions as hospital clinical director, clinical supervisor, clinical consultant, and community organizer. I have also administered international adoptions and international exchange student programs.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

Integral to my personal growth and my career has been my dedication to my children’s lives. They are now grown and remarkably caring and resourceful adults. I also enjoy a happy life with my partner who is a physician and the part-time consultant for my practice. During my unhurried time, I enjoy my elaborate flower garden, precious time with my grandchild, creative writing, interior design, and being a lifelong advocate for social justice.

FROM A PATIENT AT HEARTH FOR HEALING

Maybe the journey isn’t so much

About becoming anything.

Maybe it’s about unbecoming everything that isn’t really you

So you can be who you were meant to be in the first place.
